Divas Tag Match: Gail Kim & Eve & Melina Vs. Alicia Fox & Jillian & Maryse

— Maryse and Kim in. Kim avoids her wide punches and nails a drop toe hold on Maryse, then slams her around. Kim off the second ropes with a cross body for two. Forearm to Maryse, then Maryse is sat up top and hung upside-down. Kim tags Melina in then she holds Maryse out by her arms. Melina comes over Kim and slams, open legged onto Maryse. Lovitz loves it. Maryse slams Melina back into the heel corner Maryse distracts the ref so Jillian and Fox can beat on Melina, but Melina gets the upper hand there. Maryse kicks Melina and pins for two.

Fox tags in as Maryse holds her mouth. Suplex to Melina for two. Melina can’t tag out. Snap mare to Melina, then chinlock. Melina screams and nails a jaw breaker. Even and Jillian tag in. Dropkicks to Jillian, then Eve picks her up and slams her to the mat. Eve nails a flipping splash and pins, but Fox breaks it up. Melina in and grabs Fox. They brawl and roll out. Kim in and takes out Maryse who had come in. Eve whipped, but Eve gets an elbow up and manages to kick Jillian. Eve tries to climb, but Jillian pulls her down and pins Eve for three.

Divas Title Match: Alicia Fox (c) vs Melina

— Only two weeks after returning from a devastating leg injury that put her on the sidelines for eight months, Melina showed the WWE Universe that she hasn’t lost a step in the ring by defeating Divas Champion Alicia Fox at SummerSlam to reclaim the title she was forced to vacate nearly a year ago.

Competing in her hometown of Los Angeles, the lovely Latina showed no signs of ring rust as she battered the ferocious Fox with her unique style of wildly athletic offense. Although The Foxy Floridian is a force to be reckoned with in her own right, she simply couldn’t counter Melina’s desire and passion to win and ultimately fell to Raw’s scream queen.

The beauty’s championship celebration wouldn’t last long, however. Within moments of grasping the title, Melina was interrupted by the self-professed co-Women’s Champions, Layla and Michelle McCool. The Team Lay-Cool vixens let the new Divas Champion know that they were the only women who mattered in WWE and told her to leave the ring. Although she was outnumbered, Melina was not about to allow these mean girls to ruin her moment and attacked the pugnacious pair, but ended up on the receiving end of a harsh beating.

Still, despite Team Lay-Cool’s rude interruption, Melina’s amazing victory cannot be overlooked. It was only two weeks ago that the gorgeous grappler made a surprising return to Raw to put the arrogant Alicia Fox in her place and she is already back on top of the division.

But with Simply Flawless targeting her and Fox already gunning for a rematch, Melina is quickly remembering that the top is the most dangerous place to be in WWE. And the Divas Champion wouldn’t have it any other way.

As Alicia Fox is quick to remind the WWE Universe week after week, no Diva on the Raw roster has been able to pry the Divas Championship from her icy grip. However, Alicia’s unflinching self-confidence took a major hit when Melina made her long-awaited WWE return to challenge the devious Diva for her title at SummerSlam.

A three-time Women’s Champion, Melina captured the Divas Championship for the first time last October, but it was a leg injury – not one of her fellow Divas – that would separate the Latina lovely from the butterfly-embossed title. The Divas Title has changed hands three times, adorning the waists and shoulders of Maryse and Eve before it was snatched up by Alicia at Fatal 4-Way.

Ever since that fateful night, the foxy Floridian has not only been vocal about her in-ring dominance, but she’s proven it too, laying waste to virtually every Diva on the Raw roster. Of course, Alicia has resorted to some underhanded tactics to get the better of her opponents – including feigning injuries to catch other Divas off guard – but she’d just call that sound strategy.

As a fully healed Melina storms her way back to WWE with Alicia in her crosshairs, the WWE Universe is in for a dynamic duel of the Divas at the season’s most explosive bash.
